Ginger is a comprehensive web-based application that covers a wide range of aspects in the management of cooperatives and buying clubs. Ginger was designed and developed using a flexible engine, allowing each application to be fully customized in terms of user interface, screens and functionality.
Ginger is the product of a tight cooperation with an Israel organic food coop named Organiada that assisted in the functional design of the application in order to make it as simple and useful as possible

Ginger Paradigm
Ginger was developed following a periodic "Market Day" paradigm where coop members arrive at the coop distribution point to collect products. Ginger also provides support for home/office delivery of products.
Ginger manages two types of products. The first are products that can be ordered through the website (typically fruits, vegetables etc.) and the second are products that can be picked up and selected in the distribution point (typically items like rice, pasta, honey etc.). The first type provides tools for managing products that are ordered from suppliers based on the actual member orders while the later allows coops to maintain inventory.

Ginger Features and Scope
Ginger provides an interface for members as well as for administrators. The application includes the following functionality (partial list):
- Shopping cart - allowing members to place orders online. Supports box preparation and deliveries
- Member management - registration, permissions, password management, business members, debt tracking, usage statistics, orders etc.
- Product Management - product definition and pricing, product cost, price list generation etc.
- Product Categories - managing categories and sub-categories
- Stock Management - managing product stock with value calculations
- Supplier Management - define suppliers, assign products to suppliers, generate orders etc.
- Order Reports - automatic generation of order reports (members, carts, suppliers etc.)
- Automatic generation of Supplier Orders - generate orders in a click of a button. Also allows immediate delivery of orders via email
- Balance Management - manage weekly and monthly expense and revenues. Includes graphical representation
- Coop Shares Management - generating share balance based on monthly balances
- Sending Messages - use member and supplier database to distribute emails easily
- Archive - archive of each market day - orders, carts, stock etc.
- Point of Sale - generating bill during market day
- Ongoing Operations - Duty list management, member message board, and site message board
Ginger was designed from ground up to also support non-Latin languages such as Greek, Hebrew, Russian, Arabic and more.
